Outside Resources

A list of Quinn’s favorite resources on healing, personal growth, the arts, creativity, connecting, retreats, magic, and more. This is just a quick start—so much more to come!

Healing the Body

Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing sessions helped me heal and restore my body when it was frozen, overtaxed, and numb. The concept is that we all experience trauma throughout our lives that gets stored in our bodies. Unlike wild animals—who shake it off and go about their business—humans hold it in and experience a lifetime of symptoms. Somatic Experiencing helps us tune into our bodies’ innate healing wisdom, re-regulate our nervous systems, and release stuck trauma from the body. It’s transformational.

Waking the Tiger
Somatic Experiencing is the life work of Peter Levine. This is the first book I read to learn about healing from trauma. It’s a wonderful resource. I plan to share more about somatic experiencing in this space.

The Body Keeps the Score
Another go-to book to learn about healing the mind/body connection after trauma.

Healing the Heart

The Holistic Psychologist
Dr. Nicole LePera is amazing. She’s a young psychologist who primarily does her work on Instagram (I know, I know), but she is teaching hundreds of thousands of people to heal their shame, re-parent themselves, and self-heal. I love her free, digestible offerings and philosophy that we all have the ability to heal ourselves.

Chris Gerner
Chris Gerner is a psychologist, meditation practitioner, and creator of the Mindful Self-Compassion training program. His website is a great resource for learning about the power of self-compassion and mindfulness for healing shame and connecting within. He also has a list of free meditations.

Healing the Soul

Sera Beak, soul friend
Sera has changed my life. If you feel disconnected from your deepest, wildest, truest self, you may be longing for a relationship with your soul. I started with her book Red, Hot, and Holy, which catapulted into me being part of her soul retreats and fierce community of soul sisters. Working with Sera’s magical, irreverent, empowering guidance has changed everything for me. It has not been pretty or easy to live a soul-led life, but it has helped me embody my beautiful soul and to trust that I have everything I need inside of me. If you read her book and feel an inner “holy shit,” email me, let’s talk.

Lindsay Mack + Wild Soul Tarot
Lindsay Mack’s offerings are medicine for the soul, through the lens of tarot. I can’t recommend her enough. Lindsay’s Tarot for the Wild Soul course is the ultimate guide to using tarot for deep healing and connecting. Listening to her monthly medicine podcasts, released at the first of each month, is part of my soul’s self-care ritual.

Gathering

The Art of GatheringThis book by Priya Parker is an exceptional resource for anyone who craves more intentional and effective gatherings—from dinner parties to retreats to conflict resolution meetings.

Creativity

The Artist's Way
Julia Cameron’s book is my family’s creativity bible. Her two tools—morning pages and artist dates—are super powerful for unblocking creative energy and welcoming inspiration.

Big Magic
Are ideas alive? You might start to think so after reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s super fun take on creativity. It lightens the mood, inviting us into creative play by following our curiosity.

Writing

Jaime Fleres
Jaime is my soul sister and a powerhouse. She coached and supported me for a year as I worked on my memoir, and she is phenomenal. Sign up for her email newsletter for beautiful resources on the writing process, birthing a book, and life/creativity. (Not to mention, she is also a shamanic healer (see “astrology” section).

Grub Street
We are so lucky in Boston to have access to Grub Street, which offers a robust slate of writing classes from top-notch instructors. I love this place.

Astrology

Poetic Astrology - Heidi Rose Robbins
Heidi is a poet and astrologer. I love everything she does, but mostly her daily moon love notes on Instagram, which have helped me get more in sync with the rhythms of the world. Her astrology snapshot bundles are a great way to get insight into your birth chart if you’re a newbie.

Activist Astrology - Jessica Lanyadoo
I love Jessica’s weekly podcast and book about astrology for relationships. Though she’s a psychic animal communicator astrologer with frizzy hair and huge glasses, she is incredibly no-nonsense about mental health, relationships, and the state of the world. I love this woman.

Shamanic Astrology - Jaime Fleres
I’m fascinated by shamanic astrology, which uses ancient archetypes to give us insight into our soul’s path. Jaime’s readings are magical and practical. Her insight has helped me embody my power and who I am meant to be in this lifetime.
