[Video] Deep Rest through Yoga Nidra
This is a recording of The Retreat Space’s live online gathering “Deep Rest through Yoga Nidra” on March 29, 2020.
Wow - this was fantastic! Participants reported this practice as “lovely” and “divine.” We felt our bodies get heavy and calm, and our minds grow quiet. I recommend doing this whenever you feel anxious or have trouble sleeping.
Yoga Nidra, which means “sleep yoga” is a powerful technique of yoga that originated in India, and is designed to bring you into a state of conscious relaxation. During a yoga nidra session, you drop deeply into a restful state in which the nervous system can relax and the body’s healing powers are supported. The practice is performed while lying on your back, without moving. Kristine will draw your attention through the body and deeper levels of awareness, and into the state of consciousness in-between sleeping and waking. No experience or special props are needed.
